Student Success Profile: Grace Meyer
When Grace Meyer graduated third in her high school class (with a 4.998 GPA), she already had big plans. Inspired by her little brother, Koehl, who has Down syndrome and has battled serious health issues, she is determined to become a pediatrician specializing in the treatment of developmental disorders.
"Koehl is an inspiration. There are a lot of hoops he has to jump through on a daily basis that most people don’t. And I think it’s awesome that he does it with a smile on his face."
My brother Koehl is my hero. Our bond is so strong, he doesn’t call me by name, he simply refers to me as ‘Best Friend’.
Grace knows her path to becoming a pediatrician won't be easy, but she's determined to do so with a smile on her face as well. She exudes warmth and positivity, and her drive to achieve her dream is palpable.
"I’ve been on the other side, as the family member of a patient. That’s why I’m so passionate about my career."
One thing she knows for sure: UC Blue Ash is just the place she needs to be to make her dream a reality. She has continued to excel academically while taking on numerous leadership roles on campus, including Student Ambassador, Student Orientation Coordinator and Career Peer.
"It’s been a great experience here – getting involved on campus. I’ve learned there’s a difference between being able to go to school and being able to go to school and really thrive."
Scholarships make it possible.
Grace was chosen to speak at the UCBA Scholarship Luncheon where she received the UCBA Alumni Association scholarship. Checkout Grace's amazing speech from the event.
