Student Success Profile: Haley Fritz
Finding the Path to Success
From working in leadership roles in the non-profit field, to owning and managing her own event planning business, UC Blue Ash College Young Alumnus Outstanding Achievement Award winner Haley Fritz can really do it all. And for that she credits the Applied Administration program at UC Blue Ash College.
When Haley Fritz started her collegiate career, she didn't realize just how far it would take her. She began at UC Uptown intending to become a middle school teacher, but quickly decided that path was not for her. After taking a year off to work full-time, she enrolled at UC Blue Ash College and, after completing her associate degree, found the Bachelor's in Technical and Applied Studies Degree program. Haley was working in an organization she liked and wanted to advance her education and increase her career opportunities within the organization. The BTAS program not only provided her the skill set to do so, but worked comfortably around her schedule, allowing her to continue to work full-time while pursuing her bachelor's degree.
"I needed a few more leadership skills and some business knowledge, and I definitely gained that here through this [the Applied Administration] program."
Anywhere and Everywhere
Haley is a perfect example of how many directions there are to take with our Bachelor's in Technical and Applied Studies Degree program. Since graduating from the program, she has worked in leadership positions with different non-profit organizations like Susan G. Komen of Southwest Ohio, where she served as the Director of Development. She always had the dream of creating her own event planning business and now she's pursuing that dream, having just founded her own company.
Haley earned her Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from UC Uptown in 2017. This advanced degree, and her education from the Bachelor's in Technical and Applied Studies Degree program, have provided her with the skills and knowledge she will need to build her own event planning business from the ground up.
"I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, so this was just a continuation of an already great program." - on completing her MBA at UC Uptown to build on the bachelor's degree she earned through the BTAS program at UC Blue Ash.
"The Bachelor's in Technical and Applied Studies program here at UC Blue Ash prepared me for my career in so many ways. It taught me all the aspects of any organization, whether it be IT, marketing, accounting, law, leadership, management - all of those pieces came together, and you could see the background of how to run a business. It helped me get to where I wanted to be."
