The Rojas Twins - #twinning

Rojas Twins

Annabella and Antoni Rojas are twins from Valencia, Venezuela who came to the United States to pursue a college education. They toured the UC Uptown campus and also came to UC Blue Ash for a campus visit.

The siblings have a special connection, like many twins, and often understand each other’s thoughts and feelings without speaking.

“It’s difficult to explain, says Antoni, but we both knew immediately that UC Blue Ash was the right fit for us.”

They loved the welcoming campus, small class sizes and support services. And after meeting Nick Castro, UCBA’s Hispanic/Latino Affairs Coordinator, they knew they’d made the right choice.

“Nick has been a really big help in making the transition to living and studying in America.”

Thanks to Nick’s assistance, both Antoni and Annabella applied for and were awarded scholarships from the Greater Cincinnati Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

"I was really excited to find out we both were receiving a scholarship. Venezuela’s economy is not very good, so this really helps us. It means a lot." says Annabella.

Antoni is pursuing a degree in Sports Administration and hopes to work for ESPN. Annabella will be transitioning to UC’s College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP) to pursue a degree in Architecture.

"The support we get at UC Blue Ash makes it possible for us to focus on our studies as we reach for our dreams. It’s definitely a win-win situation."
