Guided Self-Placement for Writing
Guided Self-Placement (GSP) will help students decide which college writing course will be the right place for them to begin the English composition sequence at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. The Guided Self-Placement for Writing tool asks a series of questions related to students' experiences with writing, provides information about the writing courses in the English Composition sequence, and then asks students to select which writing course they will register for at orientation.
Completing the Guided Self-Placement for Writing tool is required prior to attending orientation, unless students’ have an ACT English/English & Writing score of 18 or higher OR an SAT Evidence-Based Reading & Writing score of 480 or higher (please see the Placement Assessment Requirements Page)
Note: The GSP Tool does not register you for a class, it only indicates your course selection so that you will be able register for the course you choose through orientation or OneStop. Your course selection will typically be processed in our system in approximately one week.
