Student Leadership and Professional Development Institute (SLPDI)
The Student Leadership and Professional Development Institute (SLPDI) is an opportunity to enhance your leadership and professional development skills. It is also a way to develop a sense of community and connection with others at UC Blue Ash.
Active participants in the institute will:
- Create personal definitions of individual and organizational leadership. Participants will also be able to identify their leadership strengths and areas for future growth.
- Explore the concept of critical thinking and how it relates to being an effective leader.
- Reflect on how to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and deal with controversial topics.
- Leave with a professional resume that can catch a hiring manager’s attention after passing through applicant-tracking filters.
- Develop the interviewing skills needed to impress potential employers and land a position.
- Establish a professional presence both online and through networking best practices.

Students are also welcome to attend individual sessions. Completing all eight workshops is not required! To attend, R.S.V.P. on GetInvolvedUC for each session. Walk-ins are also welcome.
What will I get from completing SLDPI?
A student attending any session(s) will receive:
- A certificate of participation.
- A chance to win UC Swag (1 entry per session attended)
- The opportunity to network with student and staff leaders
- An invitation to future leadership opportunities
In addition to the above, students attending the first eight workshops will receive a free University of Cincinnati padfolio!
Attending SLPDI also looks great on any Student Life job application (i.e., Student Assistants, Student Orientation Leaders, Student Ambassadors, etc.).
