The University of Cincinnati is dedicated to the safety of students, faculty, staff and guests. Emergency plans, emergency preparedness, and additional safety resources are available here.
The University of Cincinnati, like any other community, is vulnerable to a wide range of natural and man-made hazards. UC has programs in place to help prevent and respond to emergencies. The Department of Public Safety, through the Emergency Preparedness Task Force, coordinates these plans.
Public Safety Offices
UC Blue Ash College has a Safety and Security Office as a part of the University of Cincinnati's Department of Public Safety. Both have additional resources and contact information.
Emergency Transportation Plan
This includes procedures to follow when an individual is in need of some form of care. UC Public Service and Blue Ash Police are available for assistance.
- Transportation of Individual In Need of Medical Care Only: Should an individual on our campus appear to be physically ill and require immediate medical attention, contact UC Public Safety or UC Blue Ash Police. The officer will contact the city of Blue Ash Police or FIRE/EMT Department. The individual will be transported by ambulance to the nearest available hospital.
- Transportation of Individual In Need of Psychiatric Care Only: Should an individual appear to be in need of psychiatric attention, contact UC Public Safety or UC Blue Ash Police. The individual may – at the discretion of the officer – be transported to the UC Medical Center in Clifton by UC Public Safety or UC Blue Ash Police.
- Transportation of Individual In Need of Medical and Psychiatric Care: Should an individual require both medical and psychiatric care, the first priority is to treat the medical condition. The individual would first be taken to the nearest hospital. After treatment for the medical condition, the hospital would make arrangements to transport the individual to a psychiatric care facility. In this case, after the UC Public Safety is notified, the City of Blue Ash Fire Department would be contacted to have an ambulance transport the individual to the nearest hospital to treat the medical condition.
