Required Advisor Meetings
Meeting with your advisor in a timely, and effective manner can make a huge difference in your education. Your advisor can help you decide which courses you should take to receive the education you want in the most efficient way possible. This not only saves you time and money, it helps position you for success in your academic career.
New Student Orientation
First point of contact with advisors before one-to-one appointments (Transfer Students should skip this meeting):
- All new students are required to attend the New-Student Orientation
- Transfer students can skip down to the nest step: First Meeting with an Advisor
- During orientation you will experience a group advising session. Students will learn how to register for classes and then advisors will assist you in registering for your first semester of classes.
What You Need to Bring:
- Bring a folder containing your test scores.
First Meeting with Your Advisor
Usually in the middle of your first semester at UC Blue Ash:
- If you are an undecided or exploratory major or would like to change your major, come prepared to talk about other majors in which you have interest. It is highly encouraged that you look at the UC Blue Ash website for the majors that are offered.
- Please know your 6 + 2 username and your password.
What You Need to Bring:
- A list of courses you are interested in taking the upcoming semester.
- Any questions you may have for your advisor.
- A list of majors you are interested in.
Second Meeting with Your Advisor
Usually in the middle of your second semester at UC Blue Ash:
- This meeting is to help you stay on track with your major or help you decide on a major if you are undecided or exploratory.
- Have a list of classes you are interested in taking for your major. This will assist the advisor and show that you are taking responsibility for your education.
- Please know your 6 + 2 username and your password.
What You Need to Bring:
- A list of courses you are interested in taking the upcoming semester.
- Any questions you may have for your advisor.
Third Meeting with Your Advisor
Usually in the first semester of your second year at UC Blue Ash:
- The third meeting is a great opportunity for the students to talk about getting ready to transfer, graduate, and/or make sure you are accomplishing what you need to in order to be successful.
- If you would like assistance registering for classes, an advisor can help you with that as well.
- Please know your 6 + 2 username and your password.
Fourth & Additional Meetings with Your Advisor
Normal times are Near Graduation / Preparing to Transfer. You can schedule additonal meeting as often as needed :
- Final meetings with your advisor will help ensure students that they have done everything they need to in order to move onto the next step, whether that is starting on a new campus or getting prepared for graduation.
- If you would like assistance registering for classes an advisor can help you with that as well.
- Please know your 6 + 2 username and your password.
