Micro-Credentials
UC Blue Ash is excited to offer micro-credentials and additional continuing education opportunities. Micro-credentials are short, focused learning experiences designed to provide in-demand skills, know-how, and experience, often in preparation for a credentialing exam.
Micro-credentials are valued because they develop workplace capabilities that enhance employability and career progression. We provide high-quality educational opportunities that can help advance your career with less time and financial commitment than a formalized degree or certificate program. Some micro-credentials also provide a pathway to a certificate or full associate degree.
Upon successful completion of the micro-credential academic requirements, students must apply to graduate from the program. Once certified to “graduate” from the program, your University of Cincinnati transcript will be updated with the micro-credential earned.
College Credit-Bearing Micro-Credentials
Receive Support from Start to Finish
Upon application, you’ll have access to the same support resources as all other University of Cincinnati students. UC Blue Ash Academic Advising staff are here to support you, and you can tap into resources like free tutoring, accessibility resources and UC libraries.
Start on a Pathway to a Degree or Certificate
Acceptance into a micro-credential does not guarantee acceptance into a degree or certificate program. However, college credits you earn toward a micro-credential may apply to a UC Blue associate degree or undergraduate certificate.
If you are planning to pursue a degree or certificate, we encourage you to reach out to your academic program of interest first to learn about those requirements. Contact the UC Blue Ash Academic Support Team at baacdsup@ucmail.uc.edu for assistance.
Residency Requirement
Fifty percent of all course credits used to complete a micro-credential must be completed in academic residence at the University of Cincinnati.
How to Apply for College Credit-Bearing Micro-Credentials
Micro-credentials are available to non-degree-seeking students, undergraduates, graduates, non-traditional students and working professionals. It is not necessary to have a college degree to apply but some courses may have prerequisites
