New Employee Guide First Week
Your First Week at UC Blue Ash
Your first week is a busy one; you will be trying to remember a lot of new names, figure out roles, and getting to know our campus.
For New Staff
- Pick up your UC ID (Bearcat card). Your ID can be picked up on the UCBA campus in the security office.
- Security office location: Muntz Room 134. Call 513-745-5707 to request that a guard return to this post.
- This card can be used for after hours building access. Your department director must email BRUEGGDT@UCMAIL.UC.EDU about access.
- The card can also be used for discounts in the bookstore and can be set up to work as debit card.
- Obtain a parking pass. A parking permit is attained in the Dean's Office.
- Kristy Otten in the Dean's office - Muntz Room 140 - can assist you with this.
- There is a $10.00 charge taken automatically from your pay monthly.
- The pass allows for parking in the yellow lined parking spots.
- Your decal must be displayed at all times or you may receive a ticket.
- Get the necessary keys. Keys can be attained from Business Affairs in the Dean's Suite.
- Your supervisor needs to send the business office their approval to give out keys.
- It must be specified which keys are needed for what rooms.
- Access the employee self-service system. Complete your information in Employee Self Service if you have not done so at orientation.
- Use UC Flex to access self service.
- Select benefits, update personal information, tax information, and to set up direct deposit.
For New Faculty, Tenure-Track and Adjunct

- Adjuncts pay $11.00 by check or exact change cash in the dean's office PER SEMESTER.
- Adjuncts pay $22.00 if teaching 7 or more credit hours.
- The pass allows for parking in the yellow lined parking spots.
- Your decal must be displayed at all times or you may receive a ticket.
- You will be ticketted if you park in spots reserved for students.
- Get the necessary keys. Keys can be attained from Business Affairs in the Dean's Suite.
- Your department chair needs to send the business office their approval to give out keys.
- It must be specified which keys are needed for what rooms.
- Access the employee self-service system. Complete your information in Employee Self Service if you have not done so at orientation.
- Use UC Flex to access self service.
- Select benefits, update personal information, tax information, and to set up direct deposit.
- Access Blackboard. Used to keep in contact with students, provide syllabi, and post homework/grades, etc.
- Log in to blackboard.
- HR can provide you with your UC user name and password. Contact Ottenkr@uc.edu.
- Log on to the UC email system. Faculty must regularly check their UC email and respond to emails within 48 hours.
- Report your office hours. Faculty must select office hours to meet with students outside of class.
- Report your office hours to Meg Anderson in the dean's office - ander3me@.uc.edu.
- Send transcripts.
- You MUST send in your official Transcripts Attn to Meg Anderson in the Dean's Office 9555 Plainfield Rd. 45236.
For New Student Workers
- Access the employee self-service system. Complete your information in Employee Self Service if you have not done so at orientation.
- Use UC Flex to access self service.
- Select benefits, update personal information, tax information, and to set up direct deposit.
