Introduction to the Fourth Faculty & Staff Biennial

By H. Michael Sanders

Our fourth biennial exhibition showcases the work of twenty active artists and scholars all making significant contributions to the arts, enhancing dissemination of research through visual representation in their respective disciplines, and promoting student success in academic programs at UC Blue Ash College.

The twenty participating artists make their academic homes a variety of departments at the college including: Art & Visual Communication, Electronic Media Communications, English & Communications, Foreign Language, Math, Physics & Computer Science, and Accessibility Resources. The over fifty works on display produced by these artists encompass a broad array of media types: drawing in charcoal, colored pencil and graphite; painting in acrylic, oil and watercolor; photography and photo-collage; video; and mixed media constructions.

An eclectic show such as this is always a treat toward the end of the Spring semester, to survey the incredible variety of creative work being done at the college, and wallow in the visual pleasures that are able to spring forth completely free of constraints and curatorial structure.
