Eric Kniffen set a very high standard as a student at UC Blue Ash College. His exceptional performance in the classroom as a medical laboratory science major led to him being named the 2024 UC Blue Ash Honor Student of the Year, while his impressive level of involvement on campus added to his overall student experience.

Eric, who is a graduate of Lebanon High School, used his advanced knowledge to assist fellow students as a tutor in our Science Learning Lab. He also served as a student orientation leader, student ambassador, and peer mentor for our Career Services office.

“My experience at UC Blue Ash has been wonderful. It can be a little harder to get involved when you’re not living on campus, but that’s why I applied to be a student orientation leader and a student ambassador. That dramatically improved my campus life and helped me feel more connected.”

As a high-achieving student, Eric participated in the UC Blue Ash Honors Program and says he found the perfect mix of rigorous courses and individual support.

One of the things I like most is the opportunity to take these higher-level courses and receive this higher-level instruction but still have one-on-one connections with my professors. That’s a really big thing for me, because I learn best when someone is talking directly to me rather than to a sea of people.
