Student Success Profile: Sophia Sharpshair
As one of 12 children in her family Sophia Sharpshair has always been around a lot of kids and activity. That experience not only provided plenty of chaos and fun as she was growing up, it helped shape her plans for a future career.
“There were a lot of other career options I looked at and it always came back to early care and education because I really love caring for children. They’re so impressionable and they’re always learning and searching for knowledge. It’s really beautiful to watch them grow.”
Sophia always knew she wanted to go to UC and found she really liked the smaller campus and class sizes at UC Blue Ash. She enrolled in our Early Care and Education program and immediately felt a connection with the faculty due to the time and attention they are able to provide our students.
“What I love about UC Blue Ash is being part of a school that really cares about their students. I really feel like I’m seen by my professors. They know my strengths and weaknesses of where I could grow as a teacher.”
Sophia graduated from our college in spring 2024 and started her career as a teacher in early child-care. She will also have the option of completing her bachelor’s degree since our program prepares students for a seamless transition to UC’s College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services.
“I want to further my education and I want to further my knowledge in caring for children, and UC Blue Ash was the best option for me.”
