What drives you to apply for an Executive Officer position within the UC Blue Ash Student Government? (250 words maximum)

A bus. Jokes aside, wanting to be more involved in my college community, get to know my peers, and make their experience at UCBA even a tiny bit better. I also think that this position will give me a unique and valuable experience that I will carry around forever.

What makes you a good candidate to represent the voice of the UC Blue Ash student body? (250 words maximum)

As someone who hadn't always had the loudest voice in the room, I struggled to be heard, or press my concerns and beliefs. But I overcame these obstacles and I'm determined to listen to even the smallest of voices at UCBA and make sure to give them a fair shot to have their concerns be heard..

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash? (250 words maximum)

I plan to use my position to make the UCBA experience better for every one of my peers. Making sure to have their concerns be heard and possibly resolved by giving it my all in representing them.

I want to be a change. I had been a senator and I did well, but I feel like I can do more. I want to do more.

My previous work as a senator gave me more confidence to explore what I'd like to do. I'm a voice for the people.

For starters I want student government to get more involved with the general body at Blue Ash. I want more connections with other campuses like Main, Clermont, and other tribunals. Overall I want to make this campus a better and more welcoming place for our students.

What drives you to apply for an Executive Officer position within the UC Blue Ash Student Government? (250 words maximum)

What drives me to apply for an Executive Officer position within UCBA Student Government is my passion for supporting my peers. This past school year, I have been working endlessly to further support my peers within Nursing, BIOL courses, Ambassadors, mentees, and many more areas. In every setting, I have advocated, gathered, and made a difference for our betterment of success. This school year has been dedicated to further developing my leadership, collaboration, and time management skills to ensure that I am ready to become a competent Vice President within UCBA Student Government. I want to serve as your VP because of the challenge of the role – it gives me the opportunity to make a huge, positive difference for the entire student body. I will always pose as a positive role model for UCBA and work with determination and rigor within everything I do as your Vice President.

What makes you a good candidate to represent the voice of the UC Blue Ash student body? (250 words maximum)

What makes me a good candidate to represent the voice of the UCBA student body is the experiences I’ve had currently and previously serving the college. I currently serve as a UCBA Student Ambassador where I get to be a representative of UCBA in various places and events. That alone has already prepared me for 1 this role where I am a direct representative of the school and student body. Regarding representation, I am a mentor and community service lead, exemplifying my desire to help and serve others. Also, I am a student representative for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee; where I give student input on the different DEI issues and solutions surrounding UCBA. Recently, I have joined a DEI subcommittee where I am assisting in planning for more visible and attainable DEI efforts within the college. Outside of that, I serve as a study session leader for my Nursing peers and work in Enrollment Management HR at UC Main Campus. In just this school year alone, these experiences have all uniquely shaped me to be a positive role model, leader, and voice for my peers. They have all allowed me to adapt to several different groups of people with different backgrounds aspiring many different goals. In result, I was able to work in order to achieve them all.

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash? (250 words maximum)

If elected as your Vice President, I plan to continue to work with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee to further promote DEI values, ensuring that those implementations are seen, recognized, and evaluated by students. I also want to work alongside the various resource centers that we have on campus such as the study labs, Bearcat Pantry, CAPS, etc. This is to ensure students are aware of and are properly using these resources. Lastly, I want to create a more collaborative environment with our other UC counterparts (UC Main & UC Clermont) to extend invitations to certain events on other campuses in order to promote unity of our campuses as we are all a part of the Bearcat family. All in all, “Vote Bryant VP because I will shoot for you like Kobe!”

What drives you to apply for an Executive Officer position within the UC Blue Ash Student Government?

I can provide more to the club than I have before by simply attending the meetings. I can play an integral role in the planning of the group.

What makes you a good candidate to represent the voice of the UC Blue Ash student body?

I have participated in the government since last semester and truly enjoy the discussions had when finding out about issues and making ways to solve them.

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash?

I plan on being more involved figuring out the needs of the students on campus and the campus itself.

What drives you to apply for an Executive Officer position within the UC Blue Ash Student Government?

My drive behind wanting to be apart of the student government here at Blue Ash is to be part of a community and to add to the environment of my peers. It is something out of my comfort zone, it offers me growth and the chance to make lifelong relationships while developing leadership skills and making an impact. I am eager to learn more about our school and to be a part of making change.

What makes you a good candidate to represent the voice of the UC Blue Ash student body?

I am a good candidate because I am dedicated to work that inspires me. I am a hard worker and a fast learner. I am super friendly while also holding a standard of responsibility and respect for the job I get to do.

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash?

With my new role, I would plan to make sure to keep things organized, simple, and fun. I want to be the 1 microphone for students who have concerns or ideas so they don’t go unheard.

What drives you to apply for an Executive Officer position within the UC Blue Ash Student Government?

My drive to run for the executive officer position is to organize and budget for events that students at UCBA can enjoy. I want this position because I have the skills to manage the student government funds and ensure the funds are benefiting the students at UCBA. My goal is to maximize the budget we are given and use it in every way to engage all students. Thank you for considering me as Student Government Treasurer.

What makes you a good candidate to represent the voice of the UC Blue Ash student body?

I embody the qualities of a good candidate to represent the UC Blue Ash student body because I have already served as the treasurer before. I will use the skills I have learned as a treasurer and use even better budget management skills to plan as many events as possible. I will bring my listening skills, teamwork, and dedication in order to create a space that everyone can come together to have fun.

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash?

If I am elected as your student body treasurer I plan to fund events around the year like Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Valentine's Day. I will create a budget proposal with my team and plan a Halloween event, outdoor games, a talent show, and many more possibilities if I am chosen. I will make sure we make the most of the budget the college gives us and make it a fun time!!

Applying for the Executive Officer role in the UC Blue Ash Student Government might seem unconventional for an IT specialist like myself, but my drive stems from a genuine desire to utilize my skills for the benefit of our student body. I'm passionate about problem-solving, and I see this position as a platform to apply my strategic thinking and analytical approach to address the real-world issues our peers face. Furthermore, my experience as an IT major has not only sharpened my technical abilities but also enhanced my capacity for teamwork and leadership. I believe serving in Student Government will provide invaluable opportunities to further develop these interpersonal skills in a dynamic setting.

What drives you to apply for an Executive Officer position within the UC Blue Ash Student Government?

What drives me to apply is a challenging question for me to answer because so many things drive me to want to apply. I have always been a leader whether it be because I am the oldest sister or I was captain of my sports team all 4 years of high school. I have a strong aspiration to contribute to the student community and exert a constructive influence on campus life by assuming a leadership position within the Student Government. I have a passion for helping others and I find the Public Relations Coordinator would be a great way to fulfill this desire.

What makes you a good candidate to represent the voice of the UC Blue Ash student body?

My capacity for empathy toward a wide range of perspectives and experiences enables me to comprehend the needs and concerns of different groups within the student population. I possess exceptional proficiency in communication, demonstrating proficiency in articulating thoughts with clarity and actively engaging in attentive listening to others. This facilitates the efficient communication of the student body's collective voice to pertinent stakeholders and guarantees the proper representation of their opinions.

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash?

First and foremost, I will actively listen to the student body's issues, suggestions, and opinions. I will communicate with students through a variety of channels, including open forums, questionnaires, and one-on-one meetings, to ensure that their perspectives are heard and represented in decision-making processes. I will be a strong champion for students' needs and interests at all levels of the institution. This includes lobbying for policies and initiatives that promote student well-being, diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as responding to student-specific concerns.I plan to address important campus issues such as mental health support, campus safety, sustainability initiatives, and financial concerns. By prioritizing these issues and collaborating with stakeholders, we can build a campus environment that promotes all students' overall well-being. What makes me a good candidate to represent the voice of the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash student body is my communication skills, leadership qualities, and passion for advocating for student needs. I am committed to promote student voices, with love, understanding of diverse perspectives. If elected, with my position I will make positive change to represent the of the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash student body.

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash?

If elected as an Executive Officer at the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, I will focus on strategic planning, positive engagement , academic excellence, student community engagement, student success, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for all also fostering a positive and inclusive campus culture by collaborating with faculty and staff to support innovative learning opportunities. Additionally, I would strive to strengthen the community.

What drives you to apply for an Executive Officer position within the UC Blue Ash Student Government?

I want to make a difference regardless of how small or big it may be wherever I go. Holding an Executive Officer position places me in a position to make the college experience easier for my fellow students.

What makes you a good candidate to represent the voice of the UC Blue Ash student body?

My previous position as Senator places a lot into perspective because I know I can fulfill the duties of the role and my involvement with student initiatives such as our prayer/mediation room.

If elected to an Executive Officer position, what do you plan on doing with your new role at UC Blue Ash?

I plan on reaching out to all student organization leaders to gain their input and build that sense of belonging and involvement with them. After that, my main focus is getting the input of students' concerns or thoughts such as privacy covers in the bathrooms or getting the cafe to be open later.

President

  • Directs Executive and Tribunal meetings​
  • Assists the executive officers with their tasks
  • Takes initiative and takes responsibility with different tasks​
  • Checks emails daily and respond within a timely manner​
  • Makes sure the events planned are going well​
  • Reaches out to the executive officers and assigns tasks​
  • Monthly meetings with the Dean and Weekly meetings with the advisor of SG​
  • Contacts Main campus SG to further collaborate with them​
  • Representee and trustee of the students​
  • Reaches out to different groups within campus

Vice President

  • Assists the president​
  • Becomes the “interim” in case of any vacancy until the vacancy is filled​
  • Becomes the election committee chair and figures out the logistics of elections​
  • Supports other executive officers with the tasks they may need help with​
  • Meets biweekly with the advisor for a 1:1​

Secretary

  • Takes notes on meetings twice a week (Tribunal and Executive Meetings)​
  • Ensures meeting minutes are up to date on platforms such as the OneDrive file, UCBA webpage and to the Public Relations Coordinator
  • Responds quickly to emails and sends out emails for various reasons
  • Helps all the Executives when needed​

Treasurer

  • Maintains the UCBA Tribunal budget​
  • Presents reports to both the Leadership Committee and the Tribunal​
  • Works closely with the Tribunal Adviser in creating an annual budget plan, which will be presented to other executives for overall approval.​
  • Reviews budget plan at the start of each semester and present updates to the tribunal.​
  • Works closely with other executives on programming to ensure adequate funding. Events that require expenditures will be approved by the Treasurer before planning the event to ensure that the necessary funds are available.​
  • Oversees expenses and update balance sheet(s) accordingly.​
  • In addition, treasurer will also assist in program planning, as necessary.​

Senators

  • Decides on matters of collegiate interest while representing the interests of student body​
  • Proposes, debates and votes on bills and amendments​
  • Examines issues within committees/community involving students​
  • Supports other Executives within their job role and collabs with a variety of committees, student group, administration​
  • Plans workshops and events pertaining to student body interest​
  • Reports activities or news to weekly senate meetings (Basic summary of UCBA Tribunal Meeting)​
  • Joins a committee as a part of the role and works to support the initiatives of Directors within that respective group​
  • Holds 6 hours of weekly office hours​

Public Relations Coordinator

  • Ensures all UCBA students have knowledge to SG events as well as have access to join our weekly Tribunals​
  • Responsible for sending announcements via email to the Thursday announcement manager (currently Josh Monson).​
  • Updates UCBASG main website with headshots of executive officers. Note: must email UCBASG main page’s manager (currently Pete Gemmer).​
  • Manages all UCBASG social media accounts.​
  • Updates meeting minutes on CampusLINK (Tribunal and Executive) Note: Executive meeting minutes should be seen only by executive officers, not members.​
  • Creates events on CampusLINK including RSVP questions and acceptable answers when necessary.​
  • Makes sure events get approved by CampusLINK manager.​
  • Sends invites via CampusLINK to join as either a member or executive officer.​
  • Creates a LinkTree to be used as the bio for Instagram. Note: ​
  • CC any or all executive members regarding emails that could have useful information benefitting the other executive member(s).
