Public Health
The Public Health program is an associate of science degree that will prepare students for a variety of careers in public and community health and wellness. After obtaining their Associate's degree, students can choose to transition to the baccalaureate program in Public Health at UC's College of Medicine (COM).
Where It Will Take You
The career and curriculum expectations for this program will prepare students for careers in public health. This program will focus on awareness of emerging issues in public health, the social and behavioral aspects of preventing disease, environmental health concepts, the changing U.S. healthcare system, and the monitoring of diseases in the community. Graduates of this program will be prepared to advance in some of the following career options such as:
- Epidemiologist
- Health Care Administrator
- Health Education Specialist
- Health Services Administrator
- Prevention Specialist
- Public Health Practitioner
- Research Coordinator
Students who graduate with an AS in Public Health can expect an average salary of $46,200; Students with a BS in Public Health can expect an average salary of $59,990 and 7% career growth.*
