Embark on the adventure of a lifetime! Spend two thrilling weeks in Heredia, Costa Rica, the “City of Flowers” in the summer of 2025. Improve your Spanish language skill by immersing yourself in the Spanish language while attending Intercultura, engage in experiential learning opportunities, learn about the Costa Rican Culture and explore your true meaning of Pura Vida!

Program Course

SPAN 2065 - Latin American Culture and Civilization I

Course Description

Latin American Culture and Civilization I (SPAN 2065) includes a Spanish language and cultural component to the course. For the Spanish language component students will attend Intercultura for 2 weeks where they will participate in language immersion courses with Native Spanish speakers.  Students will also participate in the numerous cultural activities provided, such as cooking classes, dance classes, movie night, and language exchange partners. For the cultural component of the course, students will explore and find their meaning on Pura Vida, because it does not have one single meaning. Students will visit local markets, museums and visit San José along with a weekend excursion to Arenal and Monteverde.
